Will Baby's Bliss work for our baby?

Please look at our independent customer satisfaction survey. You will see that 88% of parents said they would recommend Baby's Bliss. You may also want to check our unedited customer feedback page.

However, there are cases when our product didn't work for a particular baby. That may be because the baby was allergic to the ingredients , was uncomfortable for other reasons or our product was not administered as recommended.

What is 'gripe water' anyway?

Gripe water is a traditional European preparation that has been used by mothers for centuries, in many parts of the world, to ease the discomforts of infant colic, stomach pain, hiccups, gas and teething.

The traditional European gripe water is a preparation consisting of specific herbs known to be beneficial for digestion and a small quantity of sodium bicarbonate. This formula has been widely and successfully used throughout the world for centuries.

What's in Baby's Bliss GripeWater?

The active ingredients in Baby's Bliss GripeWater are fennel and ginger, both of which have been shown to be beneficial in aiding digestion, reducing gas and other colic type symptoms. Fennel and ginger also help to ease the discomforts of infant teething and hiccups.

Other major ingredients are sodium bicarbonate, fructose and deionized water.

Baby's Bliss GripeWater does NOT contain: alcohol, sodium bisulphate, artificial flavors, artificial colors, binders, dairy products, fillers, petroleum-based products, gluten, soy, starch, sucrose, wheat, yeast or dill.

Why is sodium bicarbonate a major ingredient in Baby’s Bliss Gripewater?

There are two main reasons why we include sodium bicarbonate in Baby’s Bliss GripeWater. First, the sodium bicarbonate acts to maintain the correct pH balance of the GripeWater. Second, the sodium bicarbonate acts in conjunction with the Ginger and Fennel to facilitate and aid digestion. Sodium bicarbonate has been a part of the traditional gripe water formulation for generations and this formulation has been used consistently in many parts of the world. Its properties in reducing gastric irritations are well known to Doctors and Pharmacists.

Is the sodium bicarbonate in Baby’s Bliss GripeWater safe for my baby?

All ingredients in Baby’s Bliss GripeWater are listed on the FDA’s “Generally Recognized As Safe” (GRAS) list. Sodium bicarbonate is also included on the GRASS list, as well as the FDA “Inactive Ingredients Guide”. Sodium bicarbonate is a common ingredient in dietary supplements. The amount used in Baby’s Bliss GripeWater was specifically formulated for infants and babies. It is used in Baby's Bliss at a very low level to provide gentle buffering, to reduce stomach acidity, and to work with ginger and fennel for support of healthy digestion in children.

Sodium bicarbonate is commonly used in numerous food and dietary supplements. Its properties to reduce gastric irritations are well known to Doctors and Pharmacists.

Isn't fructose sugar?

Fructose is a natural sweetener and differs chemically from sucrose (industrially refined table sugar). It is a sweetener more appropriate for small children and is metabolized more slowly. Table sugar is indeed the chemical called sucrose and therefore we can claim that Baby's Bliss is "sugar free".

Why are there paraben preservatives in your product?

They are in Baby's Bliss as an important preservative, to protect the product from the growth of bacteria and mold, after it has been opened. Baby's Bliss has the safest minimal amount allowed for babies and adults. Your baby's safety is our main concern .

Is Baby's Bliss GripeWater safe?

Our product is manufactured by an FDA approved laboratory, which follows strict manufacturing standards, guidelines and procedures for quality and safety. All the ingredients used are listed on the FDA’s “Generally Recognized As Safe” (GRAS) list. The ingredients are carefully selected and must meet our quality assurance requirements prior to their use. After Baby’s Bliss has been manufactured, it is held until additional analytical and microbiological tests have been conducted to assure the safety of our product. Only when a “Certificate of Analysis” has been issued, is the product released for sale. A safety seal also protects our product.

Are the ingredients safe for my baby?

All the ingredients of Baby's Bliss are carefully calculated for infants and meet required standards. Baby's Bliss is a nutritional supplement using herbs which are also used in many foods.

Can my baby be allergic to the ingredients?

Like any food introduced for the first time to any baby, there may be an allergic reaction such as hives, vomiting or general or increased irritability. If there is a history of food allergies in either parent you should consult your health care provider before using Baby's Bliss GripeWater.

Since an infant may have an immature immune system, a possibility exists that an infant may have a rare allergic reaction. Always consult your health care provider prior to giving this or any similar product to an infant.

Can I give it with mylicon drops or other drugs?

When you combine Baby's Bliss with other products it is difficult to determine which one is working for your baby. Therefore we suggest giving Baby's Bliss on its own, to see what the results are. In this way, if your baby is comforted, then you may be able to discontinue the medications. However, you should always consult your health care provider first.

How do I use Baby's Bliss GripeWater?

Baby's Bliss GripeWater is easily given to your baby with the included dropper, either just prior to feeding or afterwards, if your baby appears to be distressed by hiccups, colic, upset stomach, gas or teething. And babies love the taste!

Why can't we give it more than 6 times in 24 hours?

This is our recommendation. As with any other product, it is not safe to give more than the recommended dose. If you are concerned about the maximum recommended usage, you can show the ingredients list to your physician, for further assurance.

How long will it be before my baby feels better?

Baby's Bliss has been known to work in 5-20 minutes - no kidding!

Should I give it as a preventative measure or just when needed?

It is only necessary to give it as needed, when you recognize that your baby is starting to become uncomfortable. It generally works quickly

Can I give half the dose, perhaps more often?

We recommended that you follow the instructions on the bottle. You may need to give it more often if you are only giving half the dose and therefore not getting the results your baby needs.

Should I give Baby's Bliss before or after feedings?

Most colicky babies will need it after feedings, when they get gassy from eating too fast or gulping in air while feeding. Some babies may need it prior to feedings if they get uncomfortable during feedings and are not able to complete a feeding due to gas.

You will learn what works best for your baby by trying it at different times.

Why does my baby sleep soundly for so long afterwards?

Babies sometimes sleep soundly and for long periods because they are finally comfortable and able to relax. There are no narcotic or habit forming ingredients in our product.

Will my baby's bowel movements be easier?

Some reports indicate that some babies have had less trouble with their bowel movements and are not as constipated as previously.

How does it help with teething?

It is understood that babies cry a lot when teething and therefore take in more air, making them gassy. This in turn leads to even more crying and discomfort. Baby's Bliss eases this gas discomfort.

Will it help hiccups?

In most cases Baby's Bliss has helped when a baby has hiccups.

How long will it last once it is opened?

It is safe to use up to 6 weeks. After that, we recommend you discard it, since the potency of the product is reduced and it may not be as effective.
